The Microbial Sciences Institute (MSI) at Yale University, in partnership with the Department of Biomedical Informatics & Data Science at Yale School of Medicine, seeks applicants for an assistant professor tenure track faculty position in computational microbiology. The MSI (http://microbialsciences.yale.edu) is a central hub where research teams from multiple departments contribute broad perspectives, approaches, and expertise in microbiology. Current research areas include chemistry and genetics of host-microbe interaction, microbial community dynamics and function, and structural biology of microbes. The MSI values deep exploration of the microbial world, prizes mentorship and interaction, and aims to push the boundaries of microbiology.
The Department of Biomedical Informatics & Data Science (BIDS) (http://medicine.yale.edu/biomedical-informatics-data-science) works to develop new approaches to understand biomedical and healthcare data. Research interests include Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, and Clinical Informatics.
