About the Opportunity
Job Summary
The Antimicrobial Discovery Center is looking to hire 1 full-time, benefits-eligible Research Technician for immediate start and competitive salary and benefits. We are only seeking applicants who have both significant experiences working soil microbiology and molecular biology. The Research Technician will join our drug discovery and development team.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting, designing, executing, and analyzing results of soil isolation experiments.
Responsible for maintaining and performing general lab tasks, such as ordering and equipment maintenance.
Responsible for culturing bacteria and performing bioactivity assays.
Works with senior staff and follows established protocols.
Assists in general support of lab function as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree (thesis-based Master's programs only)
Has at least 1 year of experience working with isolation of unculturable bacteria and substantial microbiology experience.
Preferred skill set (not all required but all preferred): Bacterial Isolation, fermentations (pre and post processing), Molecular biology techniques.
Experience working with cell-based assays and molecular cloning is beneficial.
Reliability, organization, and good communication skills are a must.
