Scheduled Hours40Position SummaryOur group studies the interactions of bacterial pathogens with their viruses, bacteriophage. We investigate the molecular arms race between bacteria and these viruses by discovering and characterizing new bacterial phage defense mechanisms, as well as the mechanisms by which phage can overcome this bacterial âœimmune system.❠We use a combination of molecular biology, biochemistry, microscopy, and sequencing approaches. Our long-term goal is to use this knowledge to advance the treatment of bacterial infections with bacteriophage (phage therapy).
