Department Name/Job Location: This position is in the Department of Molecular Microbiology. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions: POSITION SUMMARY: This position is in the laboratory of Dr. Siyuan Ding in the Department of Molecular Microbiology. The Ding lab is interested in studying the replication of enteric viruses (in particular rotaviruses) and how they interact with the host innate immune system in the small intestine. More recently, the Ding lab investigated how SARS-CoV-2 replicates in the human intestine (Zang R and Gomez Castro MF et al., Sci Immunol, 2020) and how the host defends against the virus infection (Zang R et al., PNAS, 2020). The candidate will have the opportunity to learn to work with a suckling mouse model for rotavirus pathogenesis and human intestinal organoids. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Salary Range: Base pay commensurate with experience.
