JOBSUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of an assignedsupervisor, this position works within the Microbiology, Immunology, andBiochemistry Department (MIB) and is responsible for overseeing generallaboratory conditions, using standard immunological techniques to conduct experiments,analyzing, recording, and preparing reports/graphs of experimental data fromthe use of human or mouse tissues/mouse models of inflammation or infection.
Produces Tumor Infiltrating T-cell lines from patients with various types of tumors; characterizes the cell lines using flow cytometry.
Prepares RNA or DNA for sequencing or performs qRT-PCR to measure the level of various inflammatory mediators or checkpoint inhibitor proteins and their receptors.
Works with mouse models of inflammation or autoimmunity to develop the therapeutics for treatment of immune complex disorders.
Performs ELISA or bead-based arrays on tissues from human or mouse origin to measure inflammatory response.
Uses statistical analysis tools to analyze data and generate graphs and reports from data.
Writes standard operating procedures.
Performs general laboratory housekeeping tasks, orders/maintains inventory supplies, reagents, cell lines, freezer contents, etc.
Manages equipment service inspections, equipment, and safety training logs for lab.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
