GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES The Department of Biological Sciences at Greenville Technical College's Division of Public Service, Arts and Sciences invites qualified individuals to apply for Instructor/Assistant Professor positions in General Biology, Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Medical Terminology. The Department enrolls more than 2500 students each semester and approximately 800 students in the summer. The Department employs 25 full-time faculty members, and over 20 part-time, and offers undergraduate courses in Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Zoology, Botany, Genetics, Ecology, Environmental Science, Nutrition, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Research in the Biological Sciences, and General Biology for majors and non-majors. Our mission is to provide students with challenging life sciences curricula, quality teaching, and purposeful learning opportunities. We recognize our responsibility to provide high-quality undergraduate life sciences education and to offer traditional, online, and blended learning course options that transfer to four -year colleges and universities. Departmental offerings meet the needs of students majoring in Associate of Arts and Associate of Science, as well as Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Emergency Medical Technology, Radiologic Technology, and others in the Health and Wellness and Public Service Programs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A Master’s degree in Microbiology or other similar degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Microbiology.
