Position Title: Assistant Professor in Biotechnology Posting Number: F1900185 Employer: State FTE: 1.00 Position Summary: The Department of Biotechnical and Clinical Laboratory Sciences is seeking outstanding applicants for a full-time (12-month) faculty position in the Biotechnology Program in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (Jacobs School) at the University at Buffalo (UB). The Biotechnology Program at UB is expanding opportunities for students to develop hands-on laboratory skills and gain practical experience in on-campus, local, and national internships and research placements that will lead to employment or advanced training in the STEM and healthcare fields. Applicants should have a doctorate in biotechnology or a closely related discipline, a record of excellence in research, and a commitment to teaching and working with a diverse population of undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain a productive, research program involving undergraduate and graduate students. Your responsibilities will include: The primary teaching responsibility for the position is Techniques in Cell and Tissue Culture and other relevant courses within the candidate's expertise. Our brand-new research laboratory space will provide an exciting opportunity for a candidate in the area of biotechnology, biology, immunology, or neuroscience with an interest in research and industry collaboration. Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Priority will be given to tenure track applicants that demonstrate a history of extramurally-funded research as well as to those with experience and advanced knowledge and skills in using various educational technologies including cell culture techniques for course teaching.
