Full-Time/Part-Time: Part Time
Instructors must be able to teach basic biology laboratory skills at an introductory level. These skills include pipetting, gel electrophoresis, DNA extraction, polymerase chain reaction, centrifugation, and spectrophotometry. An understanding of how to keep a laboratory notebook and instruct students on how to maintain the notebook according to industry standards is also required. Instructors must be able to teach a diverse group of students, including those with developmental education backgrounds. One-on-one training may also be required.
Instructors will be responsible for the delivery of instruction for all assigned classes and labs, evaluation and assignment of grades to his/her students, and to maintain student attendance and grading records according to college policy and submit requested information within established time lines. Instructors will be required to meet all scheduled classes; use technology such as Blackboard, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate. Instructors will be requested to conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles and views.
M.S. degree in Biology or related field.
M.S. or higher in Biology or related field; with industry experience or prior experience teaching lab based courses.
