Equity Research The Equity Research department is responsible for researching macroeconomic and microeconomic conditions, along with company fundamentals. It also collects and analyses financial information to make investment recommendations on stocks in specific sectors. Research analysts build financial models to explore alternative scenarios, examine industries and communicate with companies and investors. Equity Research team members discuss their analysis and investment recommendations in research notes. We are seeking an experienced Biostatistician to join our Biotech team in New York, NY.
The primary responsibilities are but are not limited to:
Run statistical analysis of clinical trials based on publically available information including power calculations, monte carlo simulations and sample size calculations to compare against published expectations
Aid the senior analyst in developing views on the probability of success for upcoming clinical data readouts based on your analysis and comparisons to expectations for other clinical studies with similar indications or mechanisms of action
Attend medical meetings and closely watch clinical development programs
Interact with institutional investors and respond to questions
Develop and maintain relationships with investor relations personnel and management teams of companies under coverage.
PhD in statistics/biostatistics
Experience running simulations and statistical analysis
Experience with preclinical reviews/development of drugs
Must have strong communications skills - written and oral
Ability to work independently
Prior experience at a US or European drug regulator, competitive intelligence or preclinical science at a corporate business development team or a biostatistics role at a pharmaceutical corporation are a plus *LI-NF1
