Position assists with research study, experiments, preparation of material, and documentation.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts research experiments and assays.
Prepares all sample tubes, plates and dilution tubes for experiments and assays. Assists with experiments as necessary.
Evaluates research results, reporting findings and discussing project outcomes with staff involved.
Will maintain about 10 lines of mouse lines to be used for experiments. Will oversee and maintain, wean and genotype/phenotype the lines as necessary.
Performs data entry and maintains data files on research.
Will maintain updated mouse inventory by updating the data files.
Coordinates tissue cultures, reagents, probe tests, etc.
Updates supplies inventory every week and maintains stocks by ordering the necessary supplies.
Complies with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
Will maintain the blue book, chemical inventory as required.
Coordinates research project with other institutions and investigators.
Participates in developing hypotheses to be tested and ways of testing it.
Assists with general supply/equipment orders, lab maintenance and cleaning.
Performs library research on specified topics.
Equivalent of Bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years experience in laboratory operations.
Demonstrated ability to implement general laboratory procedures, conduct research, and record findings, with focus on pursuit of advanced education in field.
The hiring range for this position is $15.16 - $20.47 per hour.
